New Category Added: Training Log

I have joined a couple of local forums and realized that training log has caught up with the Singaporeans!

So in good fun, i shall start my own too.

Run 1: 10 Feb 08 4.35pm

Ran the Woodlands route. Exact distance will be out once the mapmyrun site is fixed. At least i couldn’t create my route when i tried just now.

Run 2 1: 12 Feb 08 8.05pm

Used 1:05 to run the Bishan Park route. Once again, exact distance will be out once i can create the new route on mapmyrun. But compared to the first run, this is a lot better. I felt like i could actually complete a marathon.

If i didn’t have the large blister on both heels.

Lesson learnt - something should be left to be experienced on the actual race day, not 5 days before that. Now i don’t know how i’m going to continue last minute training for the next few days.

Top 10 Physically Modified People

This is only for the brave souls.

Don’t worry, there’s nothing pretty (in my layman’s view) or porn about the link.

CNY Holiday

It buffles me why NTU students would be directed to this blog space through their intranet discussion board.

In any case i’m back from the long CNY weekend. Not that i went anywhere in the first place. But the joy from not doing anything studies or school related can be comparable to a short getaway.

NUS Biathlon is coming up. And i am proud to tell you that i probably can’t complete it. LOL.

Screwed.

I can continue to worry about that while swimming later on, after i have completed my work for the day.

Happy CNY!

I guess for poor folk like myself, the Forestville Cabernet Sauvignon California 2001 is all that i can afford to have while having CNY reunion dinner. Though there is nothing French or American about this festival, it is still nice sipping the cheap wine while waiting for the steamboat to boil.

Suffered a bit of burn-out while eating the third steamboat of the week, fourth if you would consider the first steamboat that we had last Friday, when we dug out some food from the fridge and grabbed some from the dining table.

Spring cleaning is additive, and i could only stop after i gave the room floor one last wipe after dinner.

I’m tired now. And i didn’t run today.

Happy CNY! Especially Neh Neh, Apple, WZ and Timothy who messaged. Sorry, as usual, i didn’t reply. =)

Sheldon Brown has passed away

It was shocking to find out that Sheldon Brown has passed away.

His enriching articles have accompanied me through the few past dry finance classes. Though i do not know much about him, i am impressed by his willingness to share his knowledge on bicycles, from the technical aspect to the introductory parts that appeals to novice cyclist like myself.

My condolence to his family and friends.

CNY Gathering

I don’t have time to upload the pictures yet. But the CNY gathering with the climb team friends was a blast (in Neh’s words). Lots of food for steamboat, almost everyone was around at some point in time, and everyone ends the day sticky and hot (after playing Wii you dirty minded fella).

More on this after Neh finishes the video she talked about (if she keeps to it). And after i get some sleep in order to wake up at 8am tomorrow for the 9am soccer match.

Edison Obscene Pix

Of course i’m not going to post up the photos. Given the resourcefulness of the friends i know, i’m sure it won’t be difficult to dig up the photos from some corner of the internet. I credit this to the different university’s coursework that enforces the importance of being resourceful (how else to dig up some big time rare academic article and quote it in project).

But i think if you want to find out for yourself whether the pictures are digitally created, and how the hell Edison manages to get these shots, this is a good site to visit.

All in Chinese, but the reports are comprehensive enough for you to know every single detail about this case available in the public domain.

Bondi Surf Seafood

One of the food we Mrs Chongky enjoyed most - Bondi Surf Seafood.
